Overview
Introduction
Rights, obligations, and the institutional framework that guides our virtual airline operations.
The operations of Grupo Aeromexico Virtual, comprising Aeromexico Virtual and Aeromexico Connect Virtual, are governed by these rules and regulations to ensure a high-fidelity simulation environment. By registering an account and accessing our services, you declare that you accept these provisions in full. This agreement remains in force indefinitely; however, the Board of Directors reserves the right to modify these guidelines to ensure optimal administrative conditions or to adapt to new simulation technologies.
Institutional Disclaimer
Grupo Aeromexico Virtual is a non-profit entity created exclusively for flight simulation and healthy entertainment. We maintain no legal, commercial, or professional affiliation with Aerovías de México S.A. de C.V. All logos, trademarks, and brand identifiers remain the property of their respective owners and are used here under the "fair use" doctrine for virtual simulation purposes only.
Eligibility
Minimum Entry Requirements
The standards required to apply for Aeromexico Connect Virtual and Aeromexico Virtual.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to professionalism and the simulation community. We perform a comprehensive background check on the IVAO and VATSIM networks to review your ethical history, including past suspensions or behavioral warnings. To ensure a dedicated membership base, we do not accept pilots who provide services to more than two other virtual airlines simultaneously.
Meeting the hour threshold is only the preliminary step of the recruitment process. All applicants are required to complete a mandatory theoretical examination covering basic aerodynamics, navigation, and phraseology. Following the exam, a practical VFR or IFR navigation evaluation may be requested at a designated airport on a case-by-case basis. The training department reserves the right to waive the practical flight test based on the candidate's network rank and recorded experience, or mandate it to ensure the applicant meets our specific operational standards.
Operations
Flight Operations
Reporting protocols, activity requirements, and network connectivity policies.
The use of our proprietary ACARS system is mandatory for every flight. Pilots must ensure the system is connected prior to engine start and remains active until "blocks-in" at the destination. While our system is automated, we understand technical failures occur. We accept manual flight reports (PIREPs) only if you lost internet connection mid-flight or the ACARS software stops working. These manual reports must be submitted with supporting evidence for staff review. Additionally, mid-flight refueling is strictly prohibited; any detection of fuel quantity increasing during flight will result in an automatic rejection of the PIREP.
To maintain high simulation standards, the flight validation system monitors all flight parameters. Any flight involving the unauthorized use of "Slew" mode or Time Acceleration exceeding 2x will be subject to automatic rejection. Regarding arrival quality, the maximum allowed landing rate is -900 fpm. Any landing exceeding this threshold will be considered a "Hard Landing" or structural failure event and will be rejected by the validation system.
To maintain an active and realistic roster, Aeromexico Connect pilots must log a minimum of 4 flight hours per month. Mainline pilots must complete 1 flight per month in Connect (minimum 1 hour on that flight) plus 3 flights per month in Aeromexico; those 3 Aeromexico flights must total at least 3 hours (4 hours per month in total: 1 in Connect + 3 in Aeromexico). Failure to meet these requirements for two consecutive months without an approved Leave of Absence will result in the account being moved to "Suspended" status.
Progression
Career & Fleet Management
Aircraft assignment, rank structure, and division transfer protocols.
We operate under a "Career Path" model to reward loyalty and experience. All pilots (unless meeting Direct Entry requirements of 450+ network hours and a Private Pilot rank) must start their career at Aeromexico Connect. A transition to the Boeing 737 fleet (Mainline) requires a minimum of 160 flight hours performed within our own ACARS system. This ensures pilots are fully integrated into our SOPs before operating heavier equipment.
Ranks represent the specific airframes you are certified to operate within the Group. Operating an aircraft outside of your assigned Type Rating or Rank is considered a "Serious Operational Violation." Such actions result in the automatic rejection of the flight and may lead to a rank reduction or temporary suspension of flight privileges.
Support
Leave of Absence & Software
Procedures for managing pilot status and technical software requirements.
We recognize that "Real Life Comes First." Pilots may request a Leave of Absence (LOA) via the Crew Center for periods up to 60 days. During this time, your seniority and rank are protected. Pilots returning from an LOA longer than 30 days may be requested to perform a brief "Recurrent Proficiency Check" with a member of the training department to ensure operational standards are maintained.
The pilot is responsible for maintaining their own flight simulator environment (MSFS, X-Plane, or P3D) and acquiring the necessary aircraft add-ons and scenery. Grupo SLI Virtual provides support only for our proprietary ACARS and web systems. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy regarding software piracy; promoting or distributing pirated material will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
Privacy
Protection of Personal Data
Our commitment to your privacy and the management of your personal information.
In strict alignment with GDPR and Mexico's LFPDPPP, your data is your property. While we mask your last name on public rosters to protect your identity, you have the absolute right to request a full purge of your data. If you choose to end your membership, you must use the "Request Account Deletion" form located in the Crew Center profile settings. This initiates a manual process where administrators will permanently erase your email, IP logs, and identifiers from our databases within 20 business days.
Staff Conduct
Code of Conduct for Administrative Members
Guidelines for those holding leadership or support positions within the Group.
Staff members must lead by example, maintaining the highest level of professionalism both within our community and on external networks. All administrative decisions regarding pilot applications, PIREP rejections, or disciplinary actions must be transparent and communicated clearly. Staff members are ethically bound to maintain the confidentiality of pilot data even after their tenure with the airline concludes.
Standards
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
The technical expectations for every flight conducted under our callsign.
Pilots are expected to utilize professional dispatch tools (such as SimBrief) to generate a valid OFP (Operational Flight Plan). Flights must be conducted using real-world weather and current AIRAC cycles whenever possible. It is the pilot's responsibility to ensure they have sufficient fuel, including required reserves (Contingency, Final Reserve, and Alternate fuel), as a "Flameout" due to fuel exhaustion is grounds for an automatic PIREP rejection.
When flying on IVAO or VATSIM using a "Aeromexico" or "Costera" callsign, you are representing our Group. Pilots must follow all controller instructions promptly and maintain professional phraseology. If no ATC is present, the use of Unicom (122.800) for position reporting is mandatory. Any report of unprofessional behavior or "ghosting/suspension" by network supervisors while flying under our callsign will result in a mandatory review by the Chief Pilot.
Discipline
Compliance & Warnings
Our system for maintaining high standards and resolving conflicts.
To maintain a high-quality environment, we utilize a three-tier warning system for rule infractions (such as flying unauthorized aircraft, repeated ACARS errors, or toxic behavior):
- First Infraction: Formal Warning and counseling from a staff member.
- Second Infraction: 15-day suspension of flight privileges and potential rank demotion.
- Third Infraction: Permanent dismissal from Grupo Aeromexico Virtual.
Note: Severe violations, such as software piracy or harassment, result in immediate permanent dismissal (Tier 3) without prior warnings.
We believe in fairness. If a pilot believes a PIREP was unfairly rejected or a disciplinary action was unjustified, they have 48 hours to file an "Appeal Ticket" via the Discord support system. The case will be reviewed by a staff member who was not involved in the original decision to ensure an unbiased resolution.
Communication
Internal Channels & Community
How we interact and stay informed.
The primary methods of communication are the Crew Center "Announcements" and our official Discord server. Pilots are encouraged to join the Discord to stay updated on NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen) and Operational Circulars. While we encourage a friendly social atmosphere, all "Work-in-Progress" or "Staff-only" information is strictly confidential and may not be shared outside of the Group.
As an international community with deep roots in Mexico, we welcome both Spanish and English speakers. However, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, or skill level. We are here to learn from each other and share our passion for aviation.
Events
Group Flights & Training
Participating in the community beyond solo flying.
Grupo SLI Virtual regularly organizes "Fly-ins" and group flights, often in coordination with VATMEX (VATSIM Mexico) or IVAO Mexico. While attendance is not mandatory for maintaining active status, participating in these events is highly encouraged and often counts toward special "Event Awards" and accelerated promotion paths.
